Abducted in ParisEdit
After Kim and her friend Amanda get off the plane and out of the airport in Paris, Amanda takes a picture of Kim. A French man called Peter asks them if they want him to take a picture of both of them and they say yes. After Peter takes the picture he asks them if they'd like to get a taxi with him and again they say yes. Kim and Amanda show Peter where they are and Peter asks if they'd like to go to a party which they also say yes to. Once the girls are inside, Peter makes a phone call in French then walks off. Once the girls are in the apartment Amanda turns the radio on and plays loud music, meanwhile Bryan Mills (Kim's dad) calls Kim. Kim tells Amanda she needs the toilet. On the way back from the bathroom, Kim notices that her phones ringing. She answers it and finds out her dad's been trying to call her. Because of the loud music, Kim goes back into the bathroom. Kim tells Bryan how Amanda's cousins are in Spain and that she really didn't know about it, Bryan replies by saying 'Is there anything else you want to tell me.' Kim who is watching Amanda through the window notices men in the room. Kim tells Bryan what's happening and he tells her to go into the next bedroom and hide under the bed. The men walk into the room and talk in a different language, Bryan asks Kim to lower the phone so he can hear better. The men walk out of the room and Kim tells Bryan they're gone, then about a millisecond later she is then grabbed. Bryan and the kidnapper talk briefly, then the kidnapper then crushes the phone. After a struggle, it is unknown where Kim has been taken. Bryan goes looking for Kim and finds her in an Auction where he tells a man to buy her. Later Bryan finds her on a boat where she is used as a human shield and held at knife point by a man called Raman. Bryan shoots Raman and saves Kim. Bryan then takes Kim back to the United States, where she thanks him for saving her life.
Kim and Lenore, who is currently having marital problems, surprise Bryan by joining him in Istanbul, Turkey, where he has just finished a three-day security job. The next day, Lenore and Bryan go out for lunch. Bryan realizes they are being followed. After a chase, the men capture Lenore, forcing Bryan to surrender, but before he does, he calls Kim and warns her. Her would-be abductors shoot another hotel guest and two security guards, but fail to find her and are forced to flee.
Bryan wakes with his hands tied to a pole in a dark room. Using a communication device that he had hidden in his sock, Bryan calls Kim, instructing her to go to the US Embassy and tell them what happened, but she begs for a chance to help him and Lenore. Under Bryan's guidance, she opens his suitcase, containing weapons, and throws a grenade onto a deserted rooftop parking lot. Bryan uses the time it takes for the sound of the explosion to reach him to help triangulate his position. He then has her take a gun and two more grenades and take to the rooftops. While he is tied up, the Albanian mobsters bring in a struggling Lenore and hang her upside down. One takes a knife and slits a tiny gash in her throat, which will kill her if not treated.
They tell Bryan he has to watch her bleed out and die before he dies. When the mobsters leave Bryan is able to undo his chains and calls Kim to detonate two more grenades so he can determine his location. The grenade detonations enable Bryan to guide Kim close enough to see steam he sends up a chimney to mark his precise location. Kim tosses the gun down the chimney. Bryan uses it to kill the Albanians in the building, then saves Kim from her rooftop pursuer. Lenore, however, is taken away by her captors. Leaving Kim at the embassy, Bryan retraces the route to Murad's safe house he memorized from his abduction.
After killing the rest of the gangsters and rescuing Lenore, he confronts Murad, who confirms Bryan's guess that his two remaining sons will seek revenge if Bryan kills him. Bryan offers to let Murad live if he gives his word to end his vendetta. When the man nods his head, Bryan drops his gun and starts to walk away. Murad seizes it and tries to shoot Bryan, only to discover that Bryan has removed the bullets. His actions prove his untrustworthiness, and he is soon killed by Bryan when he kicks him onto a hook. Three weeks later, the Mills family are at a diner back home in southern California to celebrate Kim passing her driving test. They are joined, much to Bryan's surprise, by Kim's boyfriend Jamie. Kim jokingly asks her overprotective father not to shoot him.
After the events of the second film, Kim is now moved out to her new college at UCLA. After Bryan is wrongly framed for the murder of Kim's mother, he rendezvous’ with Kim in the women’s restroom at UCLA. The police discover his whereabouts and attempt to apprehend him at the university. Bryan sets off a flash grenade in a classroom, setting off the school’s fire sprinkler system, creating havoc and allowing his escape. Kim also tries to help her father escape custody and clear his name.
